Fall Sports Coaches - Get to Know Them...

Boys' Soccer - Coach Bryce Bohne
Bryce has played organized soccer since he was five years old, with over 20 years of player experience.  His playing experience has brought him to over 20 countries, including one season playing semi-professional soccer in Nigeria, two tours with the Minnesota Olympic Development Team, and three seasons playing for Bethel University. He is in his seventh year of coaching teams in Minnesota, Nigeria, and Morocco. Bryce brings a great amount of success with him, including coaching the George Washington Academy in Casablanca, Morocco to five national titles (among American international schools). He has coached the only Arab/African youth athletic team to participate in the United States in the past five years. This year, he will bring another U16 team to play in the USA Cup in Blaine!

Girls' Soccer - Coach Karl Woerle
Karl's first year as the coach of the Mustangs was nothing short of impressive. With only two rostered players that were older than Sophomores, Karl led the team to an impressive winning record. Prior to taking over the girls' soccer program at Maranatha, he coached at various high schools, including Meadow Creek from 1989-2006. Karl learned many of his soccer skills from high-caliber coaches in his native Munich, Germany. He is married to Linda and has three daughters, all of whom played soccer at the collegiate level and one who currently is playing in Germany. In his free time, Karl enjoys soccer, exercising, family, reading, and traveling. "I coach because I have a passion for sports and want to pass that on to others. I was blessed with many great coaches in my time playing. They taught me, not only a lot about the sport, but about life and using the talents God has blessed us all with. I want to give back to others what those coaches gave me - a love and appreciation for sport and glorifying God through it." - Karl Woerle

Girls' Volleyball - Coach Erin Rood
Erin comes to MCA with a wealth of high-level experience. While attending Southwest Minnesota State University, Erin was selected as a Division II NCAA All-American three times and voted as player of the year in the NSIC conference. She has been able to use her superb playing skills to become a great coach for various Junior Olympic programs and also at some of the volleyball camps hosted at her alma matter. Erin was recently wed, attends Living Word Christian Center, and lives in Plymouth, MN. She enjoys all sports, but states that volleyball is most in her heart!
