All-School Parent-Teacher Conferences

On November 6-7, Maranatha Christian Academy will host its Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences. We value our partnership with our parents. Having these meetings at this time of the year allows teachers and parents to work together to provide the best educational experience for every student. 

  • No School on Thursday and Friday (November 6-7)

Conference times include:

  • Thursday, November 6, 2:00–8:10 p.m.
  • Friday, November 7, 9:00–3:10 p.m.
  • Lower School: by appointment only (sign up here)
  • Middle & High School: To ensure you can conference with all your child’s teachers, please arrive at least one hour prior to the conclusion of the conferences.

Lower School Conferences (PK-4)

Lower School Conferences (Grades Pre–k – 4)

Lower school conferences, grades PreK-4, will be held in your child’s classroom by scheduled appointment times. Parents will have access to the PTC Fast link through our schoolwide “Mane Things” Thursday email.

Lower school families with three or more students in Pre-k – grade 4 should have received an email from Mrs. Emily Lewis (Lower School Executive Assistant) on Thursday, October 9th to schedule a time. All other families will be able to sign up on Thursday, October 16th. Families are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to receive the timeframe that works best for your family. All lower school parents should sign up for a conference by Monday, November 3, at 3:00 pm.

If you cannot attend your scheduled conference time, please let the classroom teacher know as soon as possible. If you need to make changes to your conferencing time, please reach out to Mrs. Emily Lewis, at [email protected] or 763-488-7969.

Lower school specialists Mr. Campbell (Phy. Ed.), Mrs. Shaw (Art), and Mr. Ashe (Music) will be conferencing in the Mall Hall. Ms. Kriedeman (Learning Commons Specialist/Technology Integration) and Mrs. Goetzman (STEM) will be in the Lower School Learning Commons. Please Note: Mrs. Goetzman will be conferencing on Thursday, November 6 ONLY.

**Your cooperation in not bringing your children is greatly appreciated. However, we realize sometimes this may be unavoidable. If your child must accompany you to conferences, we ask they be instructed to sit quietly on a chair outside the classroom while parents are conferencing.

 

 

Divorced Parents with Joint Custody

Due to limited conference times for pre-k and lower school, we do not provide two separate conferences for divorced parents with joint custody. However, the upper school conference format can accommodate separate conferences as needed.

Upper School Conferences (5-12)

Upper School Conferences (Grades 5-12)

  • Grades 5-8 will conference in the cafeteria - please note the change, grade 5 will host conferences in the cafeteria with the rest of middle school, NOT in classrooms by appointment.
  • Grades 9-12 will conference in the gym
  • MCO (online students): Mrs. Kaiser will offer our online families an opportunity to connect online.

Grades 5-12 parents will rotate from teacher to teacher and conference with them as they become available. To minimize wait times, we ask that you keep each teacher’s conference to a maximum of 10 minutes. Should you need more than 10 minutes, please schedule another time to meet with your child’s teacher.

The following part-time upper school teachers will conference on Thursday, November 6 ONLY:

  • Mrs. Clarke (Choir/Chapel Band) and Mrs. Maloney (ASL 1&2).

The following part-time upper school teachers will conference on Friday, November 7 ONLY:

  • Ms. Welsch (Orchestra) and Mr. Mathews (Theater).

** If you need a conference at a different time, please reach out these teachers via email to arrange a meeting.

The following one-class teachers will not have a table at conferences either day but are available by email to arrange a conference as needed:

    College and Career Counseling Schedule

    College and Career Counseling & Scheduling – Mr. Jensen will conference by appointment only in the Career Counseling Center (CCC) upstairs on November 6 and 7. Please contact Mr. Jensen at [email protected] or Mrs. Block at [email protected] to schedule your appointment.

    During conferences next Thursday, November 6, at 6:30 p.m., we will host the College and Financial Information Meeting in the Upper School Learning Lane.

    This past year has resulted in some of the most significant changes to the college planning process in decades. A College Inside Track representative will help us navigate these changes in the college application and financial aid process and answer any questions you may have.

    • Admission trends have changed around how colleges admit students.
    • Substantial changes to the FAFSA and financial aid may make colleges more expensive.
    • Schools have made the ACT/SAT optional, but not necessarily when they award scholarships.

     

      Learning Support Services and MCA Accelerated Schedule

      Learning Support Services - students with IEPs, accommodation plans, tutoring, and ALPHA (Advanced Learning Program for High Achievers) – Conferencing will take place in the Mall Hall.

      November 6 & 7 - Mrs. Brown (LSS Director), Mrs. Marvel (LSS Coordinator), Mrs. Caspers (ALPHA Coordinator & Math teacher), Mrs. Severson, and Mrs. Diaz.

      Is X-Tended Day available?

      X-Tended Day Program

      • Release Days are available for PreK-4, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:15.
      • If you need coverage after 3:15, X-tended Day hours are still in effect until 5:30 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday for an additional fee.
      • Parents can register through Camp Brain, however the deadline to sign up is October 30th, by 6:00 p.m.
