On March 5-6, Maranatha Christian Academy will host its Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences.

We value our partnership with our parents. Having these meetings at this time of the year allows teachers and parents to work together to provide the best educational experience for every student.

Conference Times

  • Thursday, March 5 from 2–8:10 pm
  • Friday, March 6 from 9 am–3:10 pm

  • Lower School conferences are by appointment only (sign up here)
  • Middle and High School conferences are not by appointment. (To ensure you can conference with all your child’s teachers, please arrive at least 1 hour prior to the conclusion of conferences for the day)

Division/Program-Specific Information

Lower School (PreK–Grade 4)

Lower School Conferences (PreK–Grade 4)

Lower school conferences, PreK–Grade 4, will be held in your child’s classroom by scheduled appointment times. Parents will have access to the PTC Fast link through our schoolwide “MANE Things” Thursday email.

If you cannot attend your scheduled conference time, please let the classroom teacher know as soon as possible. If you need to make changes to your conferencing time, please reach out to Mrs. Emily Lewis, at [email protected] or 763-488-7969.

Lower school specialists Mr. Campbell (Phy. Ed.), Mrs. Shaw (Art), and Mr. Ashe (Music) will be conferencing in the Mall Hall. Ms. Kriedeman (Learning Commons Specialist/Technology Integration) and Mrs. Goetzman (STEM) will be in the Lower School Learning Commons.

**Your cooperation in not bringing your children is greatly appreciated. However, we realize sometimes this may be unavoidable. If your child must accompany you to conferences, we ask they be instructed to sit quietly on a chair outside the classroom while parents are conferencing.


Divorced Parents with Joint Custody

Due to limited conference times for PreK and lower school, we do not provide two separate conferences for divorced parents with joint custody. However, the upper school conference format can accommodate separate conferences as needed.

Upper School (Grade 5–12)

Upper School Conferences (Grades 5–12)

  • Grades 5–8 will conference in the cafeteria
  • Grades 9–12 will conference in the gym
  • MCO (online students): Mrs. Kaiser will offer our online families an opportunity to connect online.

Grades 5-12 parents will rotate from teacher to teacher and conference with them as they become available. To minimize wait times, we ask that you keep each teacher’s conference to a maximum of 10 minutes. Should you need more than 10 minutes, please schedule another time to meet with your child’s teacher.

    PSEO/AA Degree

    Bethel professors will not be available to conference. If your student has questions about PSEO classes, students need to email the professor directly

    College and Career Counseling

    Mrs. Shoup will conference by appointment only in the Career Counseling Center (CCC) upstairs on March 5 and 6. Please contact her at [email protected] to schedule your appointment.

    Learning Support Services and MCA Accelerated

    Learning Support Services - students with IEPs, accommodation plans, tutoring, and ALPHA (Advanced Learning Program for High Achievers) – Conferencing will take place in the Mall Hall.

    The following teachers are available by appointment only:

    School Counselors

    Mrs. Shoup (Gr 7-12) will be available to conference in the CCC on March 5 and 6. Mrs. Welhouse (Gr K-6) will be available to conference in the Mall Hall on March 5.

    Ms. Flaaten will also be available in the Mall Hall.


    Frequently Asked Questions

    Can my children attend conferences?

    It is recommended to not bring your children; however, we realize sometimes this may be unavoidable.

    If children must accompany you to conferences, we ask they be instructed to sit quietly on a chair nearby/outside the classroom while parents are conferencing.

    Is X-Tended Day available?

    Release Days are available for PreK-Grade 4, from 7:30 am–3:15 pm. If you need coverage after 3:15, X-Tended
    Day hours are still in effect until 5:30 pm on both Thursday and Friday where regular school-day rates
    apply.
    Parents can register through Camp Brain, however the deadline to sign up is February 26.

    *PLEASE NOTE* Grades 5-6 will NOT have X-Tended Experience on either day.

    When should I arrive for my conference? (LS)

    If possible, try to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your conference time if you are in lower school. Your cooperation with being punctual will allow each conference the maximum amount of time. Should you arrive early and the teacher is finishing up a conference, please wait quietly in the hallway.

    Where are conferences held?
    • PreK–Grade 4 conferences will be held in your child's classroom.
    • Grade 5–8 conferences will be held in the cafeteria.
    • Grade 9–12 conferences will be held in the gym.
    • Specialists will be located in the Mall Hall or Lower School Learning Commons.
