Assessment & Student Growh

Assessment at Maranatha isn't just about a grade; it's a dynamic tool to move learning forward.

We empower students to take active ownership of their progress through regular goal-setting and reflection.

Data-Driven Instruction

At MCA, assessments are utilized to move learning forward, not just record a final grade.

Students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 participate in NWEA MAP Growth assessments during the fall, winter, and spring.

Teachers continually analyze this data, alongside classroom evidence and grade-appropriate fluency assessments, to identify priority skills and make intentional instructional adjustments.

Goal Setting & Biblical Reflection

Following MAP testing, teachers meet one-on-one with students to review their progress, celebrate their growth, and establish concrete goals for the next learning cycle.

Students identify specific action steps for both school and home.

This process is intentionally connected to biblical truth, teaching students that their intelligence and abilities are God-given gifts to be stewarded with purpose.

Professional Learning Communities

Our teachers are dedicated to continuous collaboration.

Through the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process, teaching teams examine evidence of student learning to determine how instruction should respond.

They identify which students need additional support, a different instructional approach, or greater academic extension, ensuring every student is appropriately challenged.
