The House System is one of the primary ways students in Grades 5–12 experience community, leadership, and school spirit at Maranatha Christian Academy.

What is the House System?

The House System brings Grades 5–12 together for year-long competition, service, mentorship, and tradition.

House membership provides students with opportunities to earn points through academics, attendance, service, leadership, and involvement while working together toward quarterly and annual championships in the hopes of winning The House Cup (awarded annually to the House that best exemplifies the MCA mission).

The House Is the Key to Community
  • School Unity: Each House has a part to play, and Maranatha is not complete without each one finding success
  • ‍House Identities: Each House (Legacy, Unity, Valor, Wisdom) has their own, unique symbol/color to represent a specific aspect of our community
The Heart of the House
  • Belonging & Connection: The House System helps ensure that every student is known, valued, and connected
  • Discipleship & Mentorship: Intentional, vertical relationships (older/younger students) and faculty mentorship are a key part of each House
  • Character & Leadership: Through regular, healthy competition and service, students are developed into Christ-like leaders
How the House System Works
  • Vertical Integration: Each House is intentionally made up of students from Grades 5–12‍
  • Faculty & Student Leadership: Houses are supported by faculty Advisors and led by student House Captains‍
  • Identity: Students remain in the same House for their entire MCA career
What Your Child Will Experience
  • House Meetings & Chapels: These are regular times for community, worship, and connection
  • Friendly Competition: A key tenant of the House System is competition where students earn points for their academics, character, and spirit
  • Service Opportunities: Houses work together to serve the school and greater community as we live out what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus
