Kate Truax

Kate Truax was born with a cataract in her left eye, leaving her permanently half-blind. From a young age, she struggled with feeling different, wearing uncomfortable eye patches, and being told she couldn’t participate in sports like her peers. But through it all, Kate learned to trust God's plan—even when it didn't match her own. Eventually, she found a place to thrive in dance, and what once felt like a flaw became a defining and beautiful part of her identity: her two different colored eyes. Her story is a powerful testimony of how God can take what is broken and transform it into something unique and purposeful. Now a graduate with an associate’s degree and 12+ years of dance behind her, Kate continues to live out her story as a reminder of God’s faithfulness and the truth that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made.
