PreK at Maranatha is a place where preschoolers learn through play as they form connections with their classmates and are encouraged by their teachers. We’ve built a PreK program that puts your child first and foremost in a learning environment where they are free to be themselves, learn about Jesus, and have fun. All PreK classrooms are led by a dedicated teacher and full-time classroom assistant.
We love our PreKers—they have a love for life, a joy for learning, and a pure care for those around them!

Academic and Kindergarten Readiness
For our PreK students, learning is an adventure, and that adventure runs through our math, pre-reading, coding, STEM, art, music, and PE classes. No one is too young to learn!
In fact, our PreK students have a great head start for Kindergarten, outperforming incoming kindergarteners (based on MAP testing data).
Core Subjects include:
- Bible
- Math concepts
- Reading readiness, phonics awareness, and language arts/handwriting
- Science using project-based learning
- Social studies
Specialist Classes include:
- Art
- Music
- Physical Education
- Play-based centers in the Pre-K center room
- STEM

Play-Based Learning
We believe that learning should be fun, and what better way to learn than by playing! Our PreK Center Room is the one-stop shop for everything our PreKers are looking for to expand their creativity through our climbing wall, reading tree, and more. On top of that, time in the gym and outside on the new playground and Inspire Field gives students a chance to get the wiggles out.
Spiritual Growth
PreK students have dedicated Bible learning time in class. Our teachers also make sure everything taught is from a Biblical worldview.
Service Learning
Our little-ones are excited about the world around them, and we want to teach them to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Through service projects such as our cereal box drive that culminates in a Domino Run, to raising money to buy goats for communities abroad, our PreKers get hands-on learning with helping others. Students are also given various in-class roles such as line-leader, weather helper, and prayer leader.

At Maranatha, we nurture our youngest learners' language development through an integrated approach that weaves together phonological awareness and Biblical truth. Our Pre-K students discover the joy of language while building a foundation of faith.
Through expert teacher modeling and structured support, children:
- Recognize and create rhyming patterns
- Identify beginning sounds in words
- Blend sounds together to form words
- Break words into individual sounds
- Identify ending sounds
- Learn word families through colorful poems and songs
- Build letter recognition with shape and color associations
- Develop pre-reading skills through interactive posters
- Connect learning to God's word through Bible stories and verses
We complement these foundational skills with alphabet knowledge and exposure to rich language, preparing our curious explorers for reading success while fostering their God-given love of learning. Each day brings new opportunities for discovery as students engage with colorful materials, interactive songs, and meaningful activities that celebrate Jesus's love for them.
