F.I.R.S.T. Program

F.I.R.S.T. stands for Forum for Inducting, Retaining, and Supporting Teachers. This program is Maranatha’s state and regionally recognized onboarding, mentoring, and support program for instructional staff in their first three years at MCA.

Innovation Incubators

Innovation. Change. Progress. All words that are used more and more frequently in every industry. At Maranatha Christian Academy, we have identified the need to develop a new, innovative approach to education to remain a leader in the field. In doing so, we realize that it is imperative to provide our teachers with the tools to teach in ways that maybe have not been considered in the past. Innovation Incubators are comprehensive design thinking cohorts where teachers learn changemaker processes (problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and more) that transfer immediately into the classroom.

Mini-Grant Program

Forward thinking, collaboration, and creativity are showcased in our mini-grant program. Staff members are encouraged to apply for mini-grants ranging from $500–$1,500 to innovate in their classrooms while providing additional compensation.

Awards of Excellence

Awards of Excellence recognizes teachers in categories such as education excellence, leadership, and innovation in the classroom based on peer nominations. Recipients receive bonus checks of $1,000 at an end-of-the-year luncheon.

College and Career Counselor

Summary

Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Our vision is for every Maranatha student to be highly educated, Christ-centered, and biblically anchored world changers. 

MCA has an immediate opening for a full-time college and career counselor. This position is responsible for academically counseling students and providing educational and vocational guidance services.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee and cast vision for the college and career counseling program. 
  • Oversee the Associate of Arts (AA) program and serve as the primary college counselor for all AA students
  • Oversee the academic and college counseling for all non-AA students 
  • Scheduling and class registration for all high school students
  • Coordinate and implement all college and career events
  • College Prep testing for upper school (Pre-ACT, PSAT, ACT/SAT prep, AP exams, etc.)
  • NCAA Clearinghouse advisor
  • Advanced Placement (AP) Coordinator
  • Update and ensure the accuracy of academic records (transcripts, report cards, graduation requirements, fail list)
  • Coordinate the use and implementation of Naviance college and career curriculum for upper school
  • Coordinate the application and registration of all PSEO classes
  • Develop and oversee all PSEO partnerships with Colleges and Universities
  • Summer School (credit recovery)
  • Provide oversight in the management of the academic counseling plan as published in the Academic Handbook

Paraprofessionals

Maranatha Christian Academy is hiring a full-time paraprofessional. Duties for Paraprofessionals include the ability to work constructively with students, provide innovative and creative play, and the ability to resolve conflict. This position transitions and supervises students from the classroom to the playground and monitors students afterschool. 

Summary

To prayerfully support the program by assisting the supervisor(s) in coordinating daily activities, materials, and programming in lower school’s auxiliary programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

  • Teach and lead programs as directed by assistant principal
  • Sign students into and out of X-tended Day (after school program) per school policy
  • Manage student behaviors at all times
  • Prepare daily activities and materials
  • Understand various health care procedures according to student needs. 
  • Bi-annually renew CPR & First Aid training
  • Annually renew blood borne pathogen and harassment training
  • As determined by administration, view or attend other miscellaneous training
  • Be aware and provide a safe environment for all students
  • Mentor students and provide conflict resolution teaching and resolution
  • Follow MCA’s Discipline Policies and Procedures, disciplining in love
  • Provide general student supervision and direction
  • Allow student creativity in a controlled environment
  • Cooperate with administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school

Robotic First Tech Challenge (FTC) Coach

Summary

Maranatha Christian Academy is an influential school of collaborators, innovators, and explorers grounded in Christian faith, and empowering co-creators of tomorrow. The coach is expected to be a dedicated and enthusiastic FTC Coach and Mentor to guide our team of students through the FTC season. The coach will play a vital role in fostering a positive learning environment where students can develop valuable STEM skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

This is a stipend position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • High school team practices are usually twice per week in the evenings (6:00 pm – 8:30 pm) and Saturday morning (9:00 am – 12:00 Noon). The season begins in September. It runs through February for the MN State Championship and could extend through April if teams advance to the FIRST World Championship.
  • Lead and mentor a team of students in the design, construction, and programming of an FTC robot.
  • Assist the students with understanding the FTC game challenge and developing a competitive strategy.
  • Guide students in robot construction.
  • Teach students basic programming concepts and how to program robots using FTC-approved software.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and “Gracious Professionalism” among students.
  • Oversee team safety during robot construction and competition.
  • Manage team meetings, schedules, and resources.
  • Collaborate with other mentors, parents, and volunteers to support the team(s).
  • Attending FTC workshops and training sessions, as needed.
  • Volunteer as a judge or referee at MN High Tech Kids FTC events (optional).

Qualifications

  • Passion for STEM education and inspiring young people.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Some technical and/or coding skills desired, but not required.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage students.
  • Prior experience with FTC or robotics is a plus, but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and stay updated on FTC rules and regulations.
  • Commitment to a positive and inclusive team environment.

Upper School Assistant Principal

Summary

Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Our vision is for every Maranatha student to be highly educated, Christ-centered, and biblically anchored world changers. 

MCA has an opening for an upper school assistant principal for the 2025-26 school year. This position is responsible for the educational and behavioral assistance of upper school students. The position may begin late spring/early summer. 

Essential Duties

  • Promote and build community among upper school students
  • Research best practices for students and develop programs and processes that educate the whole child
  • Help develop the upper school chapel programming
  • Oversee disciplinary concerns for students and advise/involve the upper school principal as needed
  • Monitor student attendance as well as patterns in tardiness or absence
  • Monitor detention reports and patterns in detention attendance
  • Monitor and meet routinely with students that are on probation and/or behavioral contracts 
  • Be the contact point for teachers when a behavioral concern arises in their class
  • Assess the needs of the student body and make recommendations on how to meet them
  • Monitor and address student behaviors and dress code, communicate any concerns with parents in a timely manner
  • Supervise students where needed

Supervisory Responsibilities                                            

Indirectly supervises teachers in the school faculty, specifically related to classroom management and adherence to policy. Responsibilities include coaching teachers in classroom management, indirectly appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Summer Camp Paraprofessional

Summary

Assist with planning, teaching, and leading the summer program activities of prekindergarten through grade 6 students in the classroom, on the playground, and on field trips during the MCA summer program. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned).

  • Organize and participate in games, read to children, and teach them simple painting, drawing, songs, and similar activities.
  • Directs children in eating, putting on and removing outer garments, resting periods, and toileting.
  •  Helps children develop the good habit of caring for their own clothing and picking up and putting away toys and books.
  • Assists in preparing food and cleaning up classrooms.
  • Follow MCA’s discipline policies and procedure guidelines for expected student behavior in accordance with DHS guidelines.
  • Assist in tracking student attendance using the sign-in/sign-out system.
  • Promptly inform the supervisor if observing children having difficulties with social interactions, learning, adjusting, behavior, or physical functioning
  • Supervise outside recess activities and ensure play equipment is used safely. Notify the supervisor or principal promptly if any equipment is in need of repair
  • Maintain and enforce the safety and security of the children by continually monitoring their environment
  • Understand various health care procedures according to student needs in accordance with the school's Emergency List provided by administration.

  • Represent Maranatha Christian Academy as a warm and authentic ambassador who embodies the ideals and mission of the school in both words and actions
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Admissions Office using effective planning, interpersonal, and project management skills
  • Create and implement a comprehensive recruitment and enrollment plan each year that will strategically attract, enroll, and retain a diverse and mission-appropriate student population
  • Evaluate the success of the recruitment and enrollment plan each year and prepare reports to advise the Executive Team on all aspects of the admissions and enrollment processes, including trends, forecasts, successes, and challenges
  • Design and coordinate the execution of engaging activities, such as on-campus experiences and open house events, that will showcase the rich offerings and value of Maranatha Christian to prospective students, families, and members of the community
  • Steward prospective students and families throughout all phases of the admissions process, from initial contact through enrollment and onboarding
  • Develop strategic relationships, both on and off campus, that will provide ongoing opportunities to share the values of the school to new and existing communities
  • Supervise, manage, and evaluate all members of the Admissions Office
  • Recruit and meaningfully engage a team of volunteers to help achieve Admissions Office objectives
  • Partner with the marketing team in the creation of effective media, campaigns, presentations, and materials
  • Administers surveys including Exit, First Year Families, and Conferences
  • Oversee and manage the budget for the Admissions Office
  • Serve as a member of the Financial Aid Committee

Long Term ELL Substitute

Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. We are an influential school of collaborators, innovators, and explorers grounded in Christian faith, empowering co-creators of tomorrow. MCA has a full-time temporary opening for a long-term substitute for ELL (English Language Learners) for fall 2025 (August 11 until the end of October).

 

Essential Duties

  • Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; models a consistent, daily walk with Jesus Christ in attitude, speech, and actions
  • Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration
  • Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements/standards of state and school and submits weekly to principal
