MCA alum Jayden Grove (class of 2025), is the co-owner and operator of Splash Force, a thriving home service company that he and his brother, Adam, started together. The brothers started Splash Force by focusing on window cleaning/house washing, but have recently expanded into something Jayden is very excited about. (more on that below)
Jayden couldn't say enough about what his time at Maranatha Christian Academy meant to him and how much he feels MCA helped prepare him for what he's now doing in the day-to-day of running his own business.
"Taking business courses at Maranatha,” Jayden began, “including Personal Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Introduction to Marketing and Sales helped lay the foundation for my strong work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset. Mrs. Osberg and Ms. Brommer,” Jayden continued, “were the most influential teachers I had during my time at Maranatha, and I'm genuinely grateful for the impact they had on me.”
The knowledge and practical skills they taught went far beyond quizzes and tests, providing lessons that I continue to apply in my everyday life and career long after graduating.
When asked about what the single most important thing was that he took away from his time at MCA, Jayden said, "One of the biggest traits I developed at Maranatha was initiative. I learned the importance of taking what I was taught and putting it into action. Running a business,“ Jayden continued, “requires you to take responsibility, solve problems, and continually look for opportunities to improve rather than waiting for things to happen.”
Taking that step to start a business together was a bit of a leap of faith for Jayden and Adam, but for the two of them, it was truly a shared vision.
"Adam and I wanted to build something of our own that would allow us to work together, challenge ourselves, and create opportunities for the future.”
And although getting the business up and running and learning the ins-and-outs of everything hasn't always been easy, having the full, 100% support of mom and dad has meant the world to them.
"Our parents have always emphasized the importance of taking responsibility for our actions," Jayden shared, "and doing things the right way. We understand that building a successful business isn't just about making money, it's about earning people's trust, delivering quality work, and standing behind what we promise our customers."
At the core of Splash Force is a shared belief system that, in many ways, is the key to its success.
"Being brothers," Jayden began, "gives us a strong foundation of trust, and we share the same vision for what we want Splash Force to become. Above all, our faith is an important part of that foundation, and we want to continue growing not only as business owners, but also as men of God."
And while Splash Force began as an outdoor cleaning business, the brothers recently made a strategic move to also offer something Jayden is particular passionate about—permanent outdoor lighting.
"Expanding into lighting allows us to reach new customers,” Jayden shared, “offer more value to existing ones, and create additional opportunities outside of our traditional cleaning season. One of the things that excites us most about expanding into lighting is how much it can transform a home.”
When asked what advice he’d give to current Mustangs here at MCA that might also have the dream to run their own business, Jayden said, “My biggest piece of advice would be to start taking action on your ideas instead of waiting until you feel completely ready.”
You don't need to have everything figured out to get started, and some of the most valuable lessons you'll learn will come from actually doing the work, making mistakes, and figuring things out along the way.
Looking toward the future, Jayden is excited for what God has next and is forever grateful for the years of training and knowledge he gained during his time at MCA, specifically in Mrs. Osberg’s Business classes.
And when it comes to defining what the secret sauce is to finding entrepreneurial success, Jayden said it best: "Success doesn't happen overnight, but if you stay committed, keep learning, and trust God with the direction you're heading, you can build something you never imagined when you first started.”
